"Jay Kelly" is movie that takes a "hard" look at stardom yet has a soft center. As a character study, it wants to examine a celebrity who’s soulful and charismatic enough to be played by George Clooney, and to reveal his hidden colder side. To that end, I’d say it does…and it doesn’t.
